If you have a completely open schedule on a weekend, what do you most enjoy doing?

This depends on the time of year. In the summertime I enjoy a long morning coffee on my balcony, maybe a boat ride, a hike in the woods and meeting up with friends for dinner. In the wintertime, reading by the fire and yet again dinner as I can always eat.

What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

I love singing along to Galway Girl by Steve Earle. I think it speaks to my Irish roots!

What’s the last book you read?

"Red Notice" by Bill Browder. A true story about the founder of Hermitage Capital, a hedge fund that invested in early post Soviet Russia. A frightening account of the murder of his Russian attorney and the corruption surrounding it.

Who are the three people that have influenced you the most?

First is my father, a World War II vet, who drilled into us the words, "Honor, Courage and Integrity" - which I hated as a child, but try to live by now. Finally, I would say my two children who taught me about all the truly important things in life.

What is the first job you ever held?

I was an assistant to my aunt who owned several hotels. She would be another top influence in my life. She made the world appear bigger and more interesting to this small town girl. I took my first international flight solo at 16 to meet up with her in Jamaica.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?

I have a green thumb for outdoor plants and have planned and planted several gardens. For some reason I seem to kill indoor plants, though.
